Penn-Mar Human Services, providing support services to individuals with disabilities or human services needs in Pennsylvania and Maryland, was embarking on an aggressive capital campaign to sustain and enhance both its services and endowment. Southern Community Services, a division of Penn-Mar, has been working closely with the York County Suicide Prevention Coalition to help draw attention to the public health crisis that suicide has become.  A strategic public relations campaign garnered significant media attention on TV and in print, resulting in greater public awareness of the coalition’s essential services in just a few short months.

A 10-minute video featured  on-camera testimonials from Board members, parents, staff and local employers, speaking to the quality and innovation of Penn-Mar’s services.  The messages were supported by touching personal stories of individuals with disabilities who were overcoming adversity and living meaningful lives enriched by friends, family, work and play. For shorter presentations, a 3-minute music video was produced.
