Alvaré collaborated with CLI to create a new identity that epitomized the universal call to be both the sheep and the shepherd. The new iconic symbol for the organization was designed with the silhouetted Jesus Christ as The Good Shepherd, contained within a circle. The name treatment was simplified to acknowledge the organization’s more common description as “Catholic Leadership” which was shown in in bold letters directly underneath the logo. The word “Institute,” less frequently used, was placed in a subordinate position, on its own line, in a lighter type face and color. Alvaré applied the branding to newly designed collateral, including brochures, folders, newsletters and direct mail pieces.
